The new structure of the army's science and technology system and the production of defense knowledge and innovation
Main Article Content
Abstract
This paper deals with the Brazilian Army Science and Technology System and its new design, from the perspective of their relationship with the production of knowledge and technological innovations to the field of defense. By means of a qualitative exploratory study and a structuralist approach to the subject, the work provides the conceptual foundations that verify the assumptions considered for the design of system transformation and analyzes the characteristics of the current dynamics of science and research to produce knowledge and technological innovations that justify the proposed transformation.Special attention is devoted to the role of the University, represented in this particular case by the Military Institute of Engineering. Therefore, we investigate the relationships between basic science and technological innovation, strategies for teaching and research, current dynamics of science and research to produce knowledge, ways of measuring benefits of scientific research, decision making processes in research systems and the role of the University in the technological development and processes of knowledge production based in the inter, multi and transdisciplinarity.
