About the Journal

Revista Agulhas Negras (RAN) is a biannual publication of the Agulhas Negras Military Academy (AMAN) Undergraduate Program in Military Sciences. It is a free journal of academic nature that is based on the policy of free access to information. It adopts the “ahead of print” (AOP) publication system.

Aims and scope

The objective of Revista Agulhas Negras is the development of the Military Sciences through scientific production dissemination. Its major research area is The National Defense, which includes:

- Small combat group doctrine

- Interdisciplinary Studies on Organizational Management

- Food Management and Physical Training for Military Personnel

- Interdisciplinary Studies on Leadership

- Military Sociology: Military Institutions, Authorities and Values

- Interdisciplinary Studies on Education

- Statistics and Applied Reliability in Military Sciences

- Military History: Military Institutions and Their Characters

- Military law

- Psychology Applied to Educational and Social Processes

- Interdisciplinary Studies on Digital Simulation

Frequency: biannual

Submissions: continuous

Languages: Portuguese, English and Spanish

Reviewing: double-blind peer review. Papers will be reviewed d by at least one external member, who is selected according to his/her expertise on the subject of the paper under review.

Revista Agulhas Negras uses the Open Journal Systems (OJS 3.0.1) for its publications, a free open-source system for managing and publishing journals which is developed with support and distribution by the Public Knowledge Project under the GNU General Public License.

Open access journal

RAN is an open access journal, which means that all content is freely available without charge to the user or his/her institution. The immediate free access to its content is based on the principle that making scientific knowledge available to the public provides greater global democratization of knowledge.
