Submission Preparation Checklist

As part of the submission process, authors are required to check off their submission's compliance with all of the following items, and submissions may be returned to authors that do not adhere to these guidelines.
  • Papers do not need to be completely original, however, they must be unpublished and must not be under consideration by other journals.
  • The paper has to be formatted according to the Template provided by the journal.
  • The submission file is in Microsoft Word or Open Office format.
  • The text follows the caption, formatting and citation references according to ABNT standards.
  • URLs for references were provided whenever possible.
  • There is no evidence of plagiarism or self-plagiarism . (self-plagiarism is defined as: using previous research -article, dissertation, thesis, end-of-course paper - and presenting it ipsis litteris for publication, or parts of it, as something new and original.
  • One of the authors hold a Master's or doctor's degree.
  • I declare that I have read and agreed with conditions above.

Papers must be related to the Military Sciences, within the major area of National Defense:

- Interdisciplinary Studies on Organizational Management (EGO)

- Food Management and Physical Training for Military Personnel (ATF)

- Interdisciplinary Studies on Leadership (LID)

- Military Sociology (SOC)

- Interdisciplinary Studies on Education (EDU)

- Statistics and Applied Reliability in Military Sciences (ECA)

- Military History (HIM)

- Military law (DIR)

- Psychology Applied to Educational and Social Processes (PSI)

- Interdisciplinary Studies on Digital Simulation (ESD)

 

Submission format

TEMPLATE ENGLISH

  1. All papers submitted to Revista Agulhas Negras will have its scientific merit.

  1. The citations and references presented in the text must comply with ABNT NBR 10520 and 6023 norms, respectively (THERE ARE EXAMPLES IN THE TEMPLATE).
  2. Articles and Experience Reports must follow the formatting rules according to the Template and must contain between 08 and 25 pages;
  3. The abstract must contain no more than 250 words and must bring the following information: objective of the paper, materials and methods used, results obtained and main conclusions.
  4. Recommended structure for an article (use ABNT NBR 6024 norms for progressive numbering of sections):

  1. Up to 03 (three) authors are allowed for each paper, and at least one of them must hold a Master's or Doctor's degree.
  2. Papers must be unpublished and cannot be submitted for simultaneous assessment in another journal.
  3. Submission will be accepted at the Editor’s discretion, in accordance with the editorial policy.
  4. The Editorial board can suggest changes in the paper contents as well as in writing style and formatting rules.
  5. papers must be written according to the current grammar rules.
  6. Those papers approved for publication will be submitted for a final editing, spelling and grammar review.
  7. In the OJS system, submissions will be automatically refused by the system if the author does not accept the exclusivity, originality and copyright clauses.
  8. The OJS System records all the assessment steps and editorial dates. Authors can check the status of their submission by the system.
  9. The editor and/or any individual or institution related to his collegiate boards are not responsible for the opinions, ideas, concepts and positions expressed in the texts, as they are the author’s exclusive responsibility.
  10. Reviewers use a standardized assessment form which contains a space for personalized comments. These are forwarded to the author in case of conditional acceptance or refusal.

Formatting: According to the Template.

Interview

The journal accepts interviews with researchers, theorists, personalities and military commanders who can contribute to discussions on topics relevant to Military Sciences.

- Interviews must be submitted in co-authorship with the journal’s editors or other guests who have straight relation to the topic.

- RAN accepts suggestions of interviewees and topics that may be relevant to the major area of ​​National Defense (aims and scope of the journal). Suggestions can be sent to: barros.arlindo@eb.mil.br

Experience Report

Brief experiences reports related to the National Defense major area Area will be accepted, as long as they present evidence methodologically adequate. (maximum 15 pages)

The reports must follow the guides for the submission of Articles, according to Article Template.

Review

The journal accepts Reviews of recent works, published in the last two years, related to the major area of ​​NATIONAL DEFENSE.

- The title should start with the word "Review" and keep the same name as the analyzed work.

- Language: submission in Portuguese, English or Spanish.

- Tables, graphics or illustrations will not be accepted in Reviews.

- Limit of 03 (three) pages. Larger reviews may be published as long as the authors present relevant justifications.

- There can be no more than 02 (two) authors per Review.
