Abstract

In this work is introduced a mathematical model that allows to evaluate the performance of a military tracked vehicle considering different types of ground pressure distribution profiles. In each case, it’s possible evaluate which of the ground pressure distribution profiles leads to the best performance. Each of the profiles is used in the same vehicle model (APC M113), considering the same deformable terrain, the same simulation conditions and observing the APC behavior in each case. This model allows to verify the influence of the soil cohesion coefficient value in the determination of the bulldozer resistance by analyzing the vehicle’s performance according to the efficiency parameters. The results are comparable to those presented in the references, validating the mathematical model.
